I have been involved in the health and wellness field for more than 20 years. My passion for food has led me on a journey that began with my youngest daughter. When the school told us they suspected she had ADD, we knew that medication was not the answer. We chose to change our diets and our daily habits. We removed refined sugars, dyes, preservatives and additives and started eating more organic real, whole foods. I took cooking classes at the Culinary Institute of America and educated myself in the alternative practices of Kinesiology and Homeopathy.  We hiked, biked, started yoga classes and took up orienteering. Six weeks later, the teachers at school told us how wonderful she was doing and asked what medication she was on. I told them she was eating real food and exercising more. No one believed me at first but I knew that if the choices we had made by just changing our diet and certain lifestyle habits could make that big of an impact on our health in a short amount of time, I had to share what I did and what I know with others.

The choices my family made led me down a path that has enriched our lives so greatly that I am dedicated to raising this awareness in others and to educate you in finding the balance in your life.

I have a B.S. in Marketing and Business Administration from Ithaca College, am Board Certified in Integrative Nutrition from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and hold certifications in Health Kinesiology and Transformational Coaching.

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.

My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health.

I practice a holistic, non-judgmental approach to wellness by guiding women to work at their own pace, taking small steps in their daily habits to reduce cravings, increase energy, lose weight and improve their health. I specialize in weight loss, the reduction of inflammation in the body and the re-balancing of hormones. Each client has a customized program since we are all unique. My goal is to become your personal ‘health detective’. We need to figure out together, what your body is telling us and how to create the perfect game plan for your individual concerns.

I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences and ancestral background. I use a personalized, whole body approach to ensure that you will have great success and are able to carry these practices forward for the rest of your life! My training continues daily as I am a life long learner and perpetual student.  I truly enjoy learning something new every day from my wonderful clients!

I also offer food sensitivity testing, cooking classes, cleanses and detoxifications, mindfulness retreats and a variety of interactive, fun workshops on health related topics throughout the year.

I was uncertain when I first started, but once I accustomed myself to the new foods, it became second nature. It’s fun to try new foods and opened my eyes to more healthy options to eat. The best part is that you find substitutions for “bad” things that you may have been eating and you end up not missing the “bad”. The first thing I would tell people is that it isn’t a diet, but for me it helped me to lose 20 lbs. This happened because I began to eat healthy and not fast and easy. It takes a little planning and thought but for me the end result was well worth the effort!! I have kept some of the lessons learned and use them as part of my everyday life.

For years (like 10+ years), I have grappled with pain in my upper thigh. I was diagnosed with bursitis years ago. So far in the program, it’s gone from really bad to mild / annoying. Over the years, I had many sorts of treatments, physical therapy and most recently, I did acupuncture once again as it started to bother me these past 6 months. The latter helped to a degree. When I began this journey, I wasn’t sure what to expect. My diet had gotten so out of hand drinking nothing but coffee, soda, or an alcoholic drink. Breakfast was a sugary cereal, sometimes lunch was candy or chips, cold cuts and burgers.
